Just because you’re on a sugar detox doesn’t mean you have to settle for bland and boring alternatives.
Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. This is your true and proper worship (Rom 12:1) Three times a year my husband and I will go on a sugar cleanse! One of our longest times is Lent. The first few days are always the hardest because we love sweets. Our bedtime comfort is Sprinkles red velvet cupcakes and some Edys cookies and cream ice cream. You would think that we would be obese, but we are very active despite some eating flaws. I often tell people when they ask me “how do you look like that and eat so much”? “My insides are morbidly Obese” I reply. Totally just kidding! I take very good care of myself, my labs are always above standards, and God has protected me from sickness and disease thus far. We can’t do kingdom business if we are not properly caring for our temples (our bodies). God needs us to be at 100% at all times.
There are a variety of benefits from living a sugar free lifestyle. I notice each time my husband and I cleanse, he loses 15-20lbs, and I feel as if I gain what he lost. You ladies know what I am talking about? Men have no problem losing weight and we have to work just a little bit harder to achieve and maintain. In addition to weight loss, your skin benefits from ridding your body of toxins like sugar. My skin is naturally clear and healthy, however I notice more of a glow to my skin when I am cleansing. My husband definitely has a more smooth appearance and clearer skin when we are cleansing.
We are by nature salad lovers! It is hard to enjoy salad when all you can use is vinegar and oil as your dressing. Annie’s naturals product line is always in abundance in our home. My husband likes either catalina or french dressing for his salad. I was so happy when we tried this one out as it taste very similar to a catalina with some kick. You would never know it is sugar free and a healthy alternative.
The last two pictures are my favorite alternative of all. My ice cream replacement in a smoothie. I’m obsessed with my Nutrabullet and use it almost everyday to make delicious fruit and vegetable smoothies. I always use fresh fruit. Once I purchase it (chop it up if necessary), I store it in separate freezer bags until I am ready to make my smoothie. I think frozen fruit and vegetables gives a more smooth and ice creamy consistency so this is my preferred method. You can use water or a 100% juice of your choice, as long as there is no added sugar. So delicious guys! Hope you guys enjoy! As always thank you for stopping by. Like, comment, and follow.
