He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” (Mark 4:40)
Unless you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you have had some storms arise that you were not certain you would survive! Fear and doubt can creep up in our minds even when we are trying our best to trust and believe that the Lord will come through. I would be lying if I said I have never doubted that I would have what I needed. The story of Jesus calming the Storm, just radiates such truth to the fact that no matter how close we are to Him, we still get fearful. At this point in the scriptures, the disciples had already witnessed Jesus perform many miracles. I am sure when they got in the boat that evening, they were expecting quiet seas and smooth sailing. Somehow when their boat begin to fill with water, they forgot that they were sitting beside the most powerful being there is! That did not stop them from panicking. It goes on to say that Jesus was sleeping while they were panicking. They woke Him and asked if He cared that they are perishing? Jesus woke up, looked around, and rebuked the wind and spoke 3 words. “Peace! Be still!” (Mark 4:39). The wind ceased and there was a great calm (v40). How many times are we wrestling with problems and God ask us “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” I imagine we disappoint Jesus, when we don’t believe! This is probably how He felt when He asked the disciples after calming the storm. I know it is easier said then done, but you just have to do it. Trust God at His word and He will keep your storms at bay. It does not mean storms won’t come, but when they do just remember to stay calm and simply say “Peace! Be still”. Bless you my friend! I ministered to myself as well. Sometimes it’s not until I begin to write that God gives me revelation of what He has been speaking to my heart! It becomes so much more real❤️
